I am delighted to introduce you to an outstanding leader in the New Orleans education scene, Kellie Smith Pitts. Coming to Isidore Newman from the Louise S. McGehee School where she teaches 4th grade and serves as the department chair for lower school mathematics, Kellie is an outstanding classroom teacher who loves to see children explore. Kellie also chairs a program in financial literacy. For Kellie, mathematics is a process of thinking. Her imaginative approaches to teaching financial awareness to Lower School children model teaching methods that are interactive, hands-on, and focused on real-life activities. Elected Loyola University’s Most Outstanding Graduate in Graduate Education for 2004, and Junior Achievement Educator of the Year for 2010, Kellie is an innovative, exciting, and personable teacher. We are very fortunate to add her to the lower school faculty.
