NAIS Wrap Up

2011 NAIS National Conference

I checked in to a workshop sponsored by the US Department of Education to understand better the services available to nonpublic schools, but it seems we are taking advantage of most of the services already. Other workshops I attended included “Using Data Dashboards with your Board,” “Leading Change in a Facebook World,” and a presentation by Seth Goldman whop shared the story of Honest Tea and the overlap of social purpose with entrepreneurship.

One hot topic among the heads I worked with was the potential of online learning. Both our benchmarking group and the Malone Foundation group discussed the potential of teaming up to offer enhanced and shared courses online. I will be meeting this summer at Stanford University with the Malone Heads to discuss this further.
